Fourth Grader Deacon Gates Wins Ride to School in a Fire Truck

Congratulations Deacon Gates! He was one of a handful of talented Grandview C-4 fourth graders who won the Fire Prevention Week Poster Contest.  As a reward, he received a ride to school in a big, red fire truck!

Grandview Fire Department and Grandview Arts Council collaborated on the poster contest. Grandview C-4 fourth graders at all five elementary schools drew their best to match this year’s Fire Prevention Week theme of “Every Second Counts: Plan Two Ways Out.”

Members of the Grandview Arts Council judged the posters. Winners received a certificate, t-shirt, a ride to school in a fire truck and recognition at the October City of Grandview Board of Aldermen session.
